ABSTRACT

In the COVID-19 crisis, many economies suffered from sustainable energy production. The emergence of the COVID-19 crises, extreme volatility in oil prices, limited energy efficiency in energy systems, and weak form of financial stability were the key reasons for it. However, considering these issues, a recent study aims to analyze them. ASEAN countries' energy efficiency and crude oil price volatility are examined as a solution to how financial conditions might be utilized to handle energy efficiency issues and crude oil price volatility. Extending it, the study aims to identify the influence of financial stability on crude oil price volatility and energy efficiency issues. To do this, GMM is used. According to the study's findings, environmental mitigation was determined to be important at 18%, and financial stability and carbon risk significant at 21%. Global warming concerns have been raised due to the ASEAN nations' 19.5% link between financial stability and emissions drift. A country's financial stability is necessary for implementing green economic recovery strategies, among the most widely accepted measures to reduce energy efficiency and guarantee long-term financial potential on the national scale. The study on green economic growth also provides the associated stakeholders with sensible policy consequences on this importance.

ABSTRACT

Research has already underscored the importance of online teaching and learning and its many fold benefits for students. However, in the context of COVID-19 pandemic, many technological changes and challenges have occurred which have put educational institutions in a state of frenzy due to different issues related to online education and its effective implementation. This analytical review sheds lights on the technological changes and challenges to online education during covid-19 pandemic. The chapter further highlights how the new online education policy declarations by the governments in the new pandemic situation have triggered different reactions from student and teachers' communities and how the challenges could be overcome. It is becoming popular and challenging for educational institutions. Students and teachers have reported many problems and obstacles they faced during the during the COVID-19 pandemic, which need to be properly explored and addressed in order to successfully implement and ensure quality online education. © 2022 Nova Science Publishers, Inc..

Methods of Mathematical Modelling: Infectious Diseases ; : 189-216, 2022.

ABSTRACT

In this chapter, we develop the mathematical model of four compartments including classes of susceptible, infected, recovered, and death of infected ones for the recent outbreak of a coronavirus infectious disease (COVID-19). The model is investigated for both integer-order and fractional-order derivatives. The integer-order model is analyzed for an approximate solution using the Taylor's series method along with the numerical simulation showing the validity of the obtained scheme. The fractional-order model is evaluated numerically by Euler's iterative techniques and its results are compared to that of the Taylor's series scheme. The numerical simulation is drawn against the available data at different fractional orders. The fractional-order model is also investigated for qualitative analysis using the well-known theorems of fixed-point theory. The said model is also checked for feasibility and stability by using the techniques of basic reproduction number. © 2022 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.

ABSTRACT

This study focuses on the energy efficiency in the past COVID-19 era and targeted the young population of Pakistan who are facing the critical situation of COVID-19 era and much aware that this situation will badly affect the energy situation when COVID-19 will end and they also aware that energy efficient appliances will be the most valuable products after the COVID-19 era. Data was collected from five major cities of Pakistan and analyzed by applying structure equation modelling through smart-PLS 3.3. Results show that knowledge of eco-labels has significant impact on perceived functional values, green trust and purchase intention of energy efficient home appliances. Results further indicate that consumers social responsibility has significant impact on personal norms and purchase intention of energy efficient home appliances. Moreover, functional value and green trust mediates the relationship of knowledge of eco-labels and purchase intention of energy efficient home appliances. Furthermore, attitude towards energy efficient appliances mediates the relationship between consumers social responsibility and purchase intention but surprisingly no mediating affect of attitude between consumer social responsibility and purchase intention of energy efficient home appliances. This study presents an antecedent model for predicting energy-efficient home appliances based on consumer awareness. This study will help companies for technology innovation and improvements in the efficiency of household appliances are among the key functional values that companies should emphasize, in order to attract consumers to value the surprising energy-saving effects of appliances. ABSTRACT

AIM: Study aimed to assess the burden of psychological morbidity due to lockdown in the pregnant females. MATERIAL AND METHODS: It was an observational study conducted in the department of obstetrics & gynecology, GMC Kathua during the covid lockdown period from June 2020 to August 2020. 100 antenatal patients attending OPD were included in the study after excluding those with hypertension, diabetes, heart disease, bleeding pv,IUGR,oligohydramnios, threatened preterm labour, known psychiatric illness or taking psychotropic medication, prior sleep disorder. The patients were assessed using a questionnairewhich was framed using various scales such as PHQ-9 for Depression, GAD7 for anxiety, Perceived Stress Scale and Insomnia severity index , in addition to incorporating various sociodemographic and obstetrical details. The arbitrary division of PHQ- 9 scores into ratings of minimal (0-4),mild (5-9), and moderate to severe depression (≥10) suggested by Reddy et al. was used in this study. Cutoff points of 5, 10, and 15 were interpreted as representing mild, moderate, and severe levels of anxiety on the Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7 (GAD-7). Insomnia severity index scored on a fivepoint Likert's scale (0 = no problem to 4 = very severe problem). Score of 0-7 depicted absence of insomnia, 8-14 showedsubthreshold insomnia, 15-21 represented moderate, and 22-28 showed severe insomnia. RESULTS: The total number of pregnant females analyzed in the study were 100. The age of the patients ranged from 18 years to 36 years, with mean age being 25.65 years. On analyzing Perceived stress scale,66% had low stress levels, 27% had moderate while 7% had high stress levels. Also 31 subjects(31%) had anxiety as depicted by their scores above cut off of 8. 20 patients(20%) had moderate insomnia and 45% had severe insomnia. Mild depression as diagnosed by PHQ-9 score 5-9 was found in 33 subjects (33%) whereas moderate to severe depression (PHQ-9 score greater than10) was seen in 10 subjects(10%). CONCLUSION:We can conclude that the main worries of pregnant women are related to threats to their lives and their baby's health because of the unknown causes of the pandemic. It is important to know that the changes in maternity care have a negative impact on them and they need more support to pass over this period.

ABSTRACT

Since the SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) outbreak, health-care workers (HCWs) have had to create personal protective equipment (PPE) due to the worldwide demand and thus ensuing shortage. To address the dearth of available PPE, HCWs have quickly explored options to repurpose in-hospital equipment to provide alternative PPE to caregivers. We report the modification of a Stryker T5TM and Stryker Flyte® personal protection surgical helmets as a powered air-purifying respirator.
